Well I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy performed this morning both turned out OK. Downside: No shop today Dr's orders and my boss (Mrs. Zootman) orders. So please keep the posts coming. Need something to read today.

Hi Bob, Thanks for asking. The shop is finished. I had to put off all things luthiery related though through the summer because we were so busy at work (that's a good thing ). We finally got a breather in and so I'm working on building a bender and mold for a concert uke. This will be my first "solo flight" so it'll be interesting to see how it compares to the two others I built that had lots of instructor hand holding along the way.

What about you? Are you building again? For being retired you seem to stay pretty busy with the wood sales. Do you still have time for an occasional build? If so please post some pictures, I think all of us here would like to see the zoot masters work.

BTW, that's a nice ad you have in Guitarmaker.

Well Walter my friend I strongly urge you to have it done. Like everyone says "The test is a piece of cake"
but it's the results we worry about. Now how about those pic's of your new guitar? We all want to see it. Just remember everyone even the very best of the best had a first guitar. Some good some atrocious like my first.

Roy that's good news. I look forward to seeing some pic's. As for myself I have 5 bodies in various stages of completion all waiting for necks. I never thought I would say I'm retired but don't have time to do everything I want. I guess that's a good thing. No couch potato here. Thanks for the compliments on the ad. John's guitar really makes it.

Glad to hear the good news and that everything is OK.

A colonoscopy? Sounds like a pain in the butt.

The "pain in the butt" is from the hours spent sitting on the porcelain throne the day before the colonoscopy.

Good for you, Bob!

I had a colonoscopy earlier this year, and elected to take the pain meds but not the sedative/amnisiac "Versed." I wanted to have my wits about me. I was a bit nervous, which I express with humor. So, it wasn't long before the Doc and the 2 nurses and I were yukking it up. I decided not to go with the same humor I had tried (unsucessfully) on my first colonoscopy, where I pretended to be angry with the doctor for not taking me out for a movie and dinner first. This time, I led off with "My wife's pretty sure you're going to find my head up there." The whole room relaxed, and the nurses started firing jokes too. By the time I started naming political figures that I was sure were hiding in there, one of the nurses has tears of laughter streaming down her face.

Turns out, we didn't find Jimmie Hoffa, but we also didn't find anything wrong.

Bob, Glad to hear your results were good, and I recommend that people don't worry too much about the procedure, and just get it done when the doc says it's time.
